I was brought in to moderate Full Spectrum for founders Brian Tate and Danny Simmons, who were seeking to cultivate a forum that could rigorously hold and engage complex social issues without retreating to safe talking points.
As lead moderator and co-director, I met this goal by re-imagining the panel format as a container for truth, risk, and live encounter. Relying on the power of unscripted discourse to conjure truth-telling, I nurtured a radically honest and psychologically safe space where panelists and audiences could lean forward into revelation, and encounter themselves and each other without masks.
The result: a durable, multi-year series that demonstrated conversation itself can be cultural work.
